The National Service Scheme (NSS) is anIndiangovernment-sponsoredpublic serviceprogram conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of theGovernment of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year, 1969. Aimed at developing student’s personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, working for a campus-community linkage. The cardinal principle of the NSS program is that it is organized by the students themselves, and both students and teachers through their combined participation in community service, get a sense of involvement in the tasks of nation building.
2 units of NSS are running under the hood of Smt. K. B. Parekh College of Computer Science, 200+ students are now active volunteers of NSS to participate in various activities like Swach Bharat Abhiyan, Tree Plantation, Medical checkup, Blood Donation, Debate competition, Quiz competition, Essay Writing, Poster making, Elocution competition etc..
This is the separate unit of B.C.A. College having 100 volunteers and performing following activities.
